Live Thailand Festival

The very first Live Thailand festival is to be held on August bank holiday weekend. Main attractions include

  • Food and Craft stalls
  • Thai Massages
  • Children's Rides and attractions
  • Thai Boxing Exhibition
  • Thai Classical Dancing, and much more!

The theme of Live Thailand is to recreate the essence and the atmosphere of the market place in Chiang Mai amidst the beautiful apple orchard situated behind Aylings Garden Centre in West Sussex.

Artist impression of Chiang Mai market

When one talks about Thailand, one cannot forget about the market (talad) such as “fresh markets” (where all fresh meat, fruits and vegetables are sold), floating markets, street markets, flower markets, craft markets ..etc., which form the heart of Thai culture.

Everything happens at the market- buying, selling, meeting friends, making new friends, watching colourful shows and even enjoying dancing along to the local tunes “rumwong” in groups.

For hundreds of years “talad”, or markets, have always had an influence and play a huge part in the daily life of Thai people; so much so that as soon as building of a new estate starts, immediately a tiny market appears!

Don't miss your opportunity to come to LIVE THAILAND and enjoy the true taste of Thai markets. And for all future visitors to Thailand - come and have a taster of the traditional cultural ambience of the colourful Thai market life.
